Gluten intolerance results when there is difficulty in breaking down specific amino acid links (called peptides) in the gluten molecules. This gluten intolerance can lead to intestinal inflammation and a number of disorders including Leak Gut or other syndromes. 

Further the villi of the small intestine provide us with the ability to absorb nutrients from the foods we eat and provide enzymes necessary to complete the digestion of difficult proteins. If these villi become damaged in some way, such as through food allergies, bad eating habits, age, strong medications, etc. the body has reduced ability to produce the necessary enzymes to complete the digestion of offending foods. This can lead to responses such as malabsorption, nutrient deficiencies, or other digestive disorders. 

The main treatment for gluten or casein intolerance has been to remove offending foods from a person's diet, also known as the GFCF (gluten-free, casein-free) diet. Research has also found that gluten has a protein and carbohydrate fraction. For this reason, GlutenEase contains Amylase Thera-blend and glucoamylase. Amylase Thera-blend has proven highly effective for those who suffer with an amylase deficiency or have difficulty digesting sugars and starches. Glucoamylase is necessary to finish the digestion of those sugar and starch molecules to glucose, the simplest sugar used by the body for energy.
